Vajrakila est une personnification puissante du pic en diamant, représentant la force de « la concentration unidirectionnelle qui transperce les énergies négatives obscurcissant la vérité spirituelle et l’éveil. » Dans le Yab-yum, il est un dieu yidam courroucé embrassant sa consort Diptachakra.

Le mot sanskrit Vajrakila est une combinaison des mots Vajra, qui signifie diamant, et Kila, qui signifie piquet ou petite cheville.
